Welcome to our FAQ Page!

At Alice & Friends, we believe that kindness starts on the plate and we are absolutely thrilled to have you at our table. We know that navigating menus, dietary needs, and ingredients can sometimes bring up questions. To help make your dining experience as smooth and joyful as possible, we’ve gathered answers to the things our guests ask most.

General Questions

Is everything on the menu vegan?
Yes! our menu is 100% vegan.
Does each location have a different menu?
Yes, we have three locations and each have their menu and limited-time specials.

Do you accept reservations?
Our Chicago and Oak Park locations are walk-in only. We accept online reservations at our Glenview location when made 24 hours in advance.

Do you accommodate large groups?
Yes, but our space is limited at our Chicago and Oak Park locations.

Can you bring your own wine?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own wine! We operate as a BYOB restaurant, so feel free to bring your favorite wine or beer to enjoy with your meal. Additionally, we have a drinks menu at our Glenview location.

Menu Questions

What do you recommend for someone visiting for the first time?

Our goal has always been to create dishes and desserts that everyone enjoys. Since all our menu is vegan, it depends on preferences. Many of our plant-based protein menu items are made from TVP and non-gmo soy but we have many others that are exclusively from plants like mushrooms, cauliflower, and Mung Beans.
What desserts do you have and do you make vegan cakes?

We have more than a dozen desserts daily with some days including limited-time specials.
What are your nut-free options?

Yes, we have many options including: Popcorn Nuggets, Crab Rangoon, Roasted Sesame Miso Ramen, Noble Burger, Korean BBQ, Chow Mein, Cheesecake, Chocolate Cake and more.
Which menu items are soy-free?

We have some soy-free items including: Blissful joy (without Tartar sauce), Rainbow Roll, Love Letter from the Earth (without tofu dressing), Mac & Cheese, Burmese Noodle Salad, Mushrooms Wonderland, Heavenly Curry, and Raw Tiramisu.
Which menu items are gluten-free?

We have many options including: Rainbow Roll, Agedashi Tofu, Mac & Cheese, Burmese Noodle salad ( with Kya Xan Thoke Rice Noodles), Royal Pho, Heavenly Curry, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Mousse Bar. Other menu items that can be made gluten-free upon request are Chow Mein, Laksa, Golden Yuba Fried Rice.

Can you accommodate food allergies?

Yes, we can accommodate food allergies but we are not an allergy-free environment. Always share allergies with us and we will take extra steps to minimize cross contamination.

Do you sell merchandise or pantry food?

Yes! We have t-shirts, hoodies, market bags, and accesories. We also sell our best-selling Chef Ruby’s Chili Oil and limited-time specials like our Mooncakes in the fall.

Gift Cards

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, we have physical gift cards at all three locations and e-gifts online in our website.

Can I use my gift card in all locations?

Yes, gift cards can be used in all three locations and they don’t expire.

Catering

Do you offer holiday catering?

Yes, we have a special menu for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We usually announce pre-orders in our newsletter and social media.

How far in advance should I place my catering order?

Most orders require a minimum of 5 – 7 days notice, with more advanced notice always appreciated. Catering is available during business hours but pick up and delivery time varies depending on the size of the order and/or delivery distance. We will discuss pick up or delivery time before the order is confirmed.

Do you sell whole cakes?

Yes! Our most requested cakes include: Strawberry Shortcake, Ube Cake, Black Forest Cake, Cookies and Cream Tres Leches Cake and Chocolate cake.
